Many of our readers may have noticed that rlee21 is frequently seen with a small black book, in which he scribbles notes of unknowable (until now) content. What you may not know is that the book has a name. His name is Alistair.
We at NRS were unsure of the spelling, but we have confirmed that it is in fact Alistair, rather than Alistaire, Allistaire, Allistair, Alistare, Allystare, or any other possible variation. Why this spelling? Because "the others seemed superfluous and disingenuous." Additionally, "Alistair Cook is also awesome." While you might think rlee21's prized possession is named after the cricket player (don't worry, we had to look it up too), in fact the book is actually named after rlee21's first ipod.
More precisely, Alistair is apparently rlee21's default for "anything that needs naming." This might become an issue if he ever has a son that needs naming, given his family tradition of using only R names, but we at NRS suggest a possible solution: Ralistair. To be followed by twins Raul and Roberto. All to be dressed in matching polos and khaki pants.
But we digress. What is Alistair (the book, not the ipod) really? What do his pages contain? Well, after Rlee21 was spotted jotting notes in the TMEC atrium (pictured), we at NRS were able to obtain some EXCLUSIVE and UNAUTHORIZED photos of the pages of Alistair, which are revealed below. Apparently Alistair serves as a cocktail recipe book, which is unfortunately probably the least exciting content we can think of. While many of these recipes may have already been published at Boston Dandy (we were too lazy to check) they might contain a sneak peak of a derby day cocktail. So what do you think loyal readers, will "Jocky Club no. 2" be on the menu at the derby day bash?
Wow, what poor reporting.
ReplyDeleteWhen asked, I had said, and I quote, "Alistair Cooke is also awesome". Not Alastair Cook, the cricketer (note the spelling!).
