BBS09 March Madness: Suspicious season by the numbers

Last year, we debuted NRS with a major discovery after weeks of suspicion and confusion over the identity of not_pwang. As another college basketball/suspicious season comes to a close, we take a look at this year's highlights:

Winner: Congrats, asubedee1, for being in the 98.5% of ESPN! You even beat our bball expert Commander in Chief. Suspicious.

2nd Place: We have a tie between rlee2187 and Kelli102986! Interestingly, both have Southern ties and both picked Kentucky, the eventual winner. It's a Confederate Conspiracy!

Last year's winner: Sorry, UConn can't win every year. Not even the women's team. Does honey badger care? We hope this is the same not_pwang as last year.

Loser: Did you guys want to lose? This was difficult considering we had a blank bracket (supposedly this non-existent invisible bracket would have done well, but I am suspicious), a bracket randomly generated by a statistical program, and probably the real loser, Go Ephs. When you give your bracket the name of a team that's not even in the tournament...

Number of people who claim to have done better in another pool to make up for poor performance in the BBS09 pool: At least 2

Number of suspicious brackets that caused brief paranoia and accusations but were not actually suspicious: 1

Number of brackets begun by AgentR: 1
Number of brackets finished by AgentR: 0
Number of randomly generated by R brackets that therefore beat AgentR: 1

Number of eyebrows owned by the Natl Champ's most outstanding player: 1?

Dollars at stake: $0

Dollars that will be at stake next year: At least $5. Does anyone else agree?

1 comment:

  1. I concur that there should be a buy-in next year.

    Pride of the Southland!
